When You Hold No Deuces
1Keep a Natural Royal Flush or Straight Flush complete — never break these up.
2Four to a Royal Flush — hold all four, discard the fifth even if it completes a flush or straight.
3Three of a Kind, Straight, or Flush — hold these complete hands rather than fishing for a Royal.
44Four to a Straight Flush — hold and draw one card.
5Three to a Royal Flush — discard the other two cards and draw for it.
6Consecutive pair (non-deuce) — hold the pair even though Two Pair doesn't pay. A single pair gives you three chances to improve to Three of a Kind or better.
7Nothing useful — discard all five and redraw fresh. Don't hold single high cards; in Deuces Wild, lone Aces or Kings have no special value since the minimum paying hand is Three of a Kind.
When You Hold One or More Deuces
1Four Deuces — hold all four. This is a maximum-payout hand; never discard a deuce.
2Three Deuces — hold only if you also have a Royal Flush or Five of a Kind complete. Otherwise hold the three deuces alone and draw two.
3Two Deuces — hold any paying hand of Four of a Kind or better. For lesser hands, hold the two deuces and draw three fresh cards.
4One Deuce — keep Five of a Kind, Straight Flush, or Royal Flush already complete.
5One Deuce — Four to a Royal Flush — hold the deuce plus the four Royal cards, draw one.
6One Deuce — Four of a Kind or Full House already complete — hold as-is.
7One Deuce — nothing strong — hold only the deuce and draw four new cards. Never discard a deuce for a small made hand.
